Past Covid Updates

LATEST COVID UPDATE AT THE TEAROOM

Covid-19 Government Guidelines
Lockdown regulations from 5th January 2021

Very little has changed from the hospitality perspective as we continue to only be able to serve takeaway, click-and-collect or provide a delivery service.

As you can appreciate we are in a new world and hopefully we will soon return to a world where we don’t have to use hand sanitiser, face coverings, sneeze screens and be guided as to what we can and can’t do however, for now these are the rules we need to work with together to help keep everyone as safe as possible.

VISITING THE TEAROOM

  • For customers visiting the tearoom it is single households/support bubbles or one other person only, the rule of 6 no longer applies so we kindly ask you to adhere to the guidelines.

  • Travel is to remain essential & within your local area.

  • Opening hours: Wednesday to Friday 10am-2pm (food served until 1pm), Saturday & Sunday 10am-3pm (food served until 2pm).

  • Food can not be consumed on any part of the premises, as well as adjacent seating to premises, or the car park. Unfortunately takeaway does mean takeaway.

  • Please do not gather in the car park for a chat, sit on the stones or lean on the barrier to enjoy your purchases as this doesn’t class us as takeaway only.

  • You are welcome to sit in your car and enjoy a car picnic however please don’t sit on your boot or hang around your car to consume any purchases.

  • We kindly ask once you have your drinks, cakes & nibbles to take them up the lane towards the Southwell Trail.

  • Do not gather on the lane or in the hamlet and please be mindful of the local Maythorne community.

  • Please place any rubbish in a bin or take home to dispose.

PLACING YOUR ORDER

  • You are required to wear a face covering and asked to use hand sanitiser when entering the tearoom.

  • One customer in the tearoom at one time to help keep everyone as safe as possible.

  • We continue to ask customers to sign in using the NHS app for Test & Trace (or alternatively we can take a name & contact telephone number).

  • We prefer card payment simply to help keep the whole ordering process contactless for our customers however we do have a cash handling procedure.

  • Please wait in the sheltered waiting bays on the terrace whilst your order is being created, you have a beautiful view over the fishing lake.

PUBLIC SPACES NEARBY TO ENJOY A PICNIC

In the government guidelines you can meet outdoors to see friends and family in some public places, in a group of up to 6 people, these include parks, benches, countryside accessible to the public, public gardens and playgrounds whilst observing social distancing.

If you turn left and walk for 10-15 minutes there is a newly refurbished play park with benches, if you turn right and walk 15-20 minutes there is a bench.

If social gatherings occur within the car park and area around the tearoom or customers sit on the stones I do have to ask you to politely move on as to adhere to the government guidelines. I appreciate this isn’t ideal, however as a business it is so important you guys please work with me on this one.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUING SUPPORT

As 85% of the remaining country opens with restrictions please remember not all businesses are as lucky. I daydream of the day when we can hug, sit next to a friend and have the tearoom alive with laughter and chatter but for now please please work with me, please don’t be rude or blame me for the Tier 3 restrictions, I am a human too who is currently having the fight of her life simply trying to save her business and the livelihoods of my team.

Update Saturday 31st October, 2020

TAKE-AWAY SERVICE ONLY AT PRESENT

As of Thursday 5th November we will be operating a take away service only, and are therefore unable to provide seating either inside or outside of the tearoom. We ask that all purchases of food and drink are taken away from the premises, including the carpark so that we adhere to these guidelines.

We really do appreciate your patience and cooperation as we navigate our business through these difficult and uncertain times. Our priority at all times is to keep our customers and staff as safe as possible.

Update 26th November 2020

And so we have the news that Nottinghamshire is in Tier 3 after we come out of lockdown! What does this mean for AMC I hear you say and basically we continue as if we were in lockdown with takeaway only. Hospitality is only permitted to be open if for takeaway or deliveries so nothing changes with our processes, covid safety and everything is served as takeaway only. You are welcome to have a car picnic however you are unable to have a social gathering in the car park and we ask you to please be mindful of the local community and surrounding areas if you are on foot. We are doing everything possible to try and keep some sort of normality for our team, suppliers and customers, a moment of escapism. As Christmas is just around the corner we are launching our snacks, toasties and festive goodies menu with the idea being the best bits of a Christmas dinner however can be enjoyed as takeaway or on the go, so from Pigs in Blankets, Stuffing Balls, to mini Roast Potatoes with Rosemary Salt and a Bacon, Brie & Cranberry Toastie to help create a little bit of festive cheer and smiles. I appreciate life is frustrating at the moment however please remember to be kind to each other, I don’t create the rules however I am legally obliged to enforce them to avoid prosecution or potential closure so please please please continue to work with me as for all independent business and hospitality we are working so so hard to survive, make it to the other side, we work 60-80 hour weeks to keep the dream alive. I daydream of the day when the tearoom can be filled with chatter and laughter however for now we have to stay safe and remain patient, thank you for your ongoing amazing support x x x

Update: 16th November 2020

How are we keeping? Almost half way through the lockdown 2.0 although in my heart of hearts I think it will be extended and then opened up for Christmas but finger crossed we will get there…I have learnt to take the good days and bad days simply as a day and tomorrow is a new day, I am not sure if running the tearoom has become harder or simply that I am more exhausted?? The latest tearoom update, as you guys know we review week by week what we are doing and whilst you guys continue to visit and it continues to hold itself then we continue as takeaway only. As we have extended the time the doors are open at the weekend only simply due to footfall we have made the decision to extended our opening hours to 3pm however this is a prompt 3pm close, weekdays (Wednesday to Friday continues to be a 2pm close with food service until 1pm only). As some of you may have noticed we have had our opening hours re-sign written to reflect our opening hours in Tier 2 & 3 but then we went into lockdown so this doesn’t accurately reflect our opening hours however there is a notice above the opening hours sign, on the front door, social media pages and posts, Tripadvisor, Google, the local newspaper and website with our latest opening times so I ask please cut me a little slack regarding the sign, we are in a national lockdown, the government moves the goal posts all the time and we are simply trying to react and keep our heads above water, if you have seen I have accidentally missed something on the website or something isn’t quite right please don’t criticise, yes please highlight them to me however please don’t be rude, if you didn’t realise our opening hours and food service hours have changed again please don’t blame me, if you knew the work and hours involved trying to keep our heads above water, the behind the scenes, yes the duck swims smoothly on the water however we are paddling crazy to continue to bring you All Mine Cakes by the Lake in a pandemic. I appreciate life is frustrating at the moment but please remember I am only human too x

Update: 9th November 2020

How are you doing? We are taking things day by day and then reviewing at the end of every week regarding the plan for the following week. Firstly, as a team we would like to say a huge thank you for all your support during our first week of takeaway only and as a result we are extending to open week commencing the 9th November, again for takeaway only however with a few tweaks so here we go;

  • Opening days are Wednesday to Sunday 10am-2pm

  • Food menu is slightly tweaked as you guys are letting us you would like more food on the go so we are serving our snacks menu everyday (weekdays until 1pm, weekends until 2pm) and unfortunately we have suspended our fish & chips and falafel salad (if you guys start to ask for it to be returned we can review), have a look at the snacks menu on the website….Keeping up?

  • Due to business logistics we are unable to accept pre-orders for hot drinks and food however you can contact us with your cake reservation and we can organise a contactless cake collection from the tearoom.

  • Cakes by Post menu is now being shared on my social media pages on Mondays to give you guys longer to choose and place orders. Orders head out preferably on Wednesday as standard 1st class post usually means they arrive prior to the weekend, the beginning of the week is when myself and the cake bakers bake the cakes to ensure freshness and stock available for the tearoom, we can send out Thursdays but bear in mind if using standard postage there maybe a delay especially with Christmas pressure and more online orders due to lockdown 2.0.

  • The website is in the process of having a little revamp behind the scenes and so once launched it will have more information about Cakes by Post.

  • Online purchases now give the option of gift vouchers and GF Flour Blends plus the new, exciting brownie box

Sorry it’s a little bish, bash and bosh but sometimes thats the easiest way especially in a world where we are either overwhelmed with information, general life and the ever changing rules of covid 19. Lets see what the week ahead brings, I must admit the last fortnight as be beyond tough, I have this constant tension feeling within which impacts on my health and sends my fatigue/wonkiness into free fall so bear with me as the whole situation sometimes can be a bit overwhelming, the pressure of surviving, creating stability for my team and moments of escapism for you guys x

Update: 5th November 2020

Who else is struggling to keep up? From Tier 2, to Tier 3 and then just when we got our head around it a second lockdown was announced so as I write this months tearoom update to be honest I am not quite sure where we will be next week. As we are able to open for takeaway only as part of the second lockdown we are going to have a trial opening 10am-2pm (food served until 1pm) from the 5th November and then review on the 8th November whether we keep the tearoom doors open or revert to Cakes by Post, local deliveries or contactless collections. Obviously we will be following government guidelines however we also need you guys to work with us, by takeaway you are most welcome to sit in your car and have a car picnic however we please ask that you don’t hang around enjoy your takeaway treats within the car park itself or surrounding areas, meet friends or additional family members which breaches the government guidelines as this is classed as a social gathering. As more information is provided by the government we in turn can action any additional requirements. To help keep everyone as safe as possible we will have cones positioned where you guys queue which will help to maintain social distancing and on the terrace we will have waiting bays, our takeaway only is an extension of what we have already been doing since we reopened on the 4th July 2020 (except you can’t eat indoors or outside). I appreciate life is a little frustrating at the moment however myself and my team are simply following the government guidelines, trying to keep everyone safe and avoid prosecution, we don’t want to be saying what you can and can’t do so please please please work with us because we are trying to create a little bit of loveliness in a time where there is worry, stress and anxiety, by serving just takeaway we are not encouraging non-essential travel to the tearoom, we are simply offering locals who may head out for a walk along the Southwell Trail the opportunity to pop in for a takeaway coffee or for someone to actually speak to another human being due to social isolation.

In all of the worry, stress and emotional exhaustion of the latest lockdown news, we just so happened to be awarded the Great Food Awards Club Café of the Year 2020-21. The awards celebrate the East Midland’s best food and drink independent businesses so a huge thank you to everyone who nominated and voted for us, my amazing team, my support crew, local suppliers, my hubby and of course you guys because without your support and love for All Mine Cakes by the Lake, believing in the dream with me none of this would be possible…Somehow when we come out of lockdown we will have some sort of celebration because how can we not? All Mine Cakes not only serves multi-award winning cakes but we are now actually say we are an award winning tearoom so as the week ahead will decides what happens for the next few weeks all I can say is thank you, whilst you guys keep supporting us we will keep doing our best to keep the doors open. As before in the first lockdown we will be sending cakes out and about via All Mine Cakes by Post, local deliveries and contactless collections from the tearoom, we will be keeping the website updated, you can give us a call or message me direct via social media because at the moment we all need tea and cake, a moment of escapism and happiness. We are launching new and exciting Halloumi fries as part of our weekend snack menu and “Puddings on the Go” so watch this space!! Plus we have just launched our brownie box online x

Update: 13th October 2020

How are we doing? Here at AMC we are breathing a slight sigh of relief that we are still able to be open however with amendments to our indoor tables, the change is that indoor seating can only be for the same household or support bubble, unfortunately if you wish to meet up with friends or additional family members you will be allocated one of our outdoor tables (maximum size of 6 including children). Most of the tables are under cover either from the Tipi, awnings or heated parasol but you guys are going to have to come wrapped up warm and maybe pop a blanket in the car to help keep you toasty as the season is changing and at time there is definitely an autumnal feeling in the air. This is tough for everyone at the moment especially trying to survive as a business so we ask for you to please work with us and be honest regarding your household/support bubble when asked in arrival to the tearoom, I appreciate it isn’t ideal and its outside however we don’t make the rules simply trying to follow government guidelines in an attempt to try and help keep everyone as safe as possible. Everything else remains the same, for new discoverers I write a weekly update so just scroll down for more AMC news and updates which might help prior to visiting the tearoom. My hubby is charging up the drone to take an arial photo of the tearoom, we have car parking, you can walk or cycle to us and we are out of town for anyone anxious about stepping out of their safe space x

Update: 8th October 2020

Hello, sorry for the delay in an update, its been a little crazy our end with staff sickness, launching new menus and simply not enough hours in the day! With changes afoot we are planning the best we can to adapt and react, stocking up on cake baking ingredients, takeaway packaging and if we can only serve takeaway we have a plan which can be implemented immediately so fingers crossed it doesn’t come to a full lockdown but be reassured we are doing everything possible to keep staff and visitors as safe as possible whilst visiting All Mine Cakes by the Lake. In more positive news we have just launched an amazing Hug in a Takeaway Cup Menu (everything continues to be served as takeaway with the option to eat in, outdoors or takeaway for a car picnic overlooking the fishing lake or take home). We have additional outdoor covering with a huge pink awning so now have 10 outdoor tables under cover and 4 indoor tables, all tables are on a first first serve basis based upon your position in the queue, sorry no reservations taken so as we wait for the government latest guidelines I just want to say a huge thank you for your ongoing support of AMC x

Update: 22nd September 2020

Wow, what a week…This week we are launching our new lunchtime menu on weekdays served between 11am-2pm (have a look on the menu page of the website, its good!) and at the weekend we are adding new snacky treats so watch this space for menu’s. At the moment we are awaiting the Prime Minister’s latest guidelines or laws regarding hospitality and Covid 19 which formally announced at 8pm this evening. As you know we have always asked for customers entering the building to wear a face covering, a decision which has been made regarding face coverings is that improvised face coverings of a hat, t-shirt or jumper are no longer an acceptable face covering for whilst you are in the tearoom, we have disposable coverings available for £1.00 each and we try to help where possible but unfortunately if you don’t find this acceptable we will be unable to serve you within the tearoom. We have our Health & Safety team from Harrier UK also anticipating the updates and will be in contact with myself to tomorrow to ensure we implement any changes with immediate effect. The new test and trace QR code has been created and you can scan yourself into the tearoom however not everyone has this technology so we continue with our current methods of recording details of visitors to the tearoom which are stored securely to maintain with GPDR guidelines. In exciting news we have won another Great Taste Award (making it 12 in total, just incase you were wondering?) for our GF Bakewell Tart ao why not pop along and give it a try?? Right, I need to create allergen charts and information regarding the new menu launching tomorrow but I will update tearoom Covid secure guidelines once they have been announced so watch this space for any changes x

Update: 15th September 2020

How are we all? All sorts of things going on at the tearoom, excitingly we are reopening Wednesday’s, yes it remains shorter hours of 10am-3pm however we have been watching footfall and after 3pm very few people visit us however on Wednesday so many people visit the tearoom when we are closed so the next move was to add an extra day, we continue to assess day by day and review. We survived, myself and my kitchen crew being on breakfast and thank you to everyone who supported us during our chef’s annual leave but he is back! This week we are serving our breakfast menu, triple cooked chips and one last week of our salad menu as behind the scenes we are working on our latest creations with the season changing.

The latest government guidelines state that 6 is the maximum table size (this has now been confirmed to include children) so a maximum of 6 people from 6 different households on outside tables and on our inside tables its a maximum of 2 household/support bubbles, we only have 1 table which seats 6 people & 2 which seats 4 people. As a business owner I ask for you to please work with us on this, we have noticed a small number of customers becoming more hostile towards us regarding face coverings and the latest guidelines, rudeness will not be tolerated. We have had Helen from Harrier UK Ltd (Health & Safety) work with us to ensure the tearoom is as safe as possible for both my team and visitors, this is why everything continues to be served as takeaway because at this time due to maintaining social distancing within the kitchen team plus I can control what enters my building to ensure my team stay as safe as possible during a pandemic. If anyone visiting is unhappy please ask to speak to myself so I can explain why we are doing what we are doing versus leaving us negative reviews on TripAdvisor or social media pages.

On a lighter note, we have also managed to get our hands on some of the new Cadbury’s Chocolate Orange Twirls so keep your eyes peeled on my social media pages for when the land on the cake menu later this week…Less than a week to go until the Great Taste Awards for 2020 are announced, I am trying to play it cool but inside I am desperate to win another gold star x

Update: 9th September 2020

Crickey, what a week so apologies for not doing the second update last week because it all went a bit insane as we opened our indoor seating plus with my chef on annual leave, myself & the kitchen crew smashed it but took us a while to find our flow with the new kitchen layout to maintain Covid safety within the workplace. To maintain social distancing we can only have 3 indoor tables (2 x 4 seats & 1 x 6 seats), within indoor seating you must have a face covering (which is removed once your are sat at your table) however to be replaced for any movement within the tearoom. To follow the government guidelines indoor tables are a maximum of two households/support bubbles and to comply the latest government news briefing outdoor seating is a maximum of 6 people from different households, it is now the law not guidance. As before we are not accepting any table reservations, they are on a first come first served basis based upon your position in queue to ensure fairness on allocation and favourite tables so even if you are in the queue someone can’t just go ahead grab a table who is part of your group (unfortunately we have a member of staff greeting people, should any queue jumping occur we will ask you to please wait your turn and return to the other people in your group). For those of you who haven’t visited us as yet we have a one way system in place so we enter via the porch and then exit via the gate in the fence on the terrace which is why we ask for you to queue behind the cones near the bike rack (we ask bikes to be leant of the fence around the tearoom to again maintain social distancing). My chef remains on holiday so breakfast will be served at the weekends only from 10am-1pm but he is back next week. Have you tried our new Kinder Brookie? Its not for the faint hearted but man its good!! x

Update: 1st September 2020

How are you all? Here is this weeks update as a few different things are happening at the moment so there will be probably more than one update this week!! My chef is on annual leave until the 16th September, I begged him not to go but the holiday was booked (he’s staying in the UK) so unfortunately as there is only so much one woman can physically do before you find me in a heap on the floor broken beyond return so the decision has been made to serve breakfast only on Saturday & Sundays 10am-1pm because its me (Hayley) on breakfast like the good old days with my wing woman on standby if I start to spin out & loose it, believe me it happens but you guys never see it or hear my stressed potty mouth however breakfasts are always perfect which is why we invested in a very expensive clever professional oven. My team have had training on everything out front and my hubby has been roped in to steer the ship until service has finished then I am back out front saying “Hello”. We opted to suspend the salad menu & triple cooked chips because seriously when I have multiple orders on adding another thing could push me one step too far! Our opening hours have returned to 10am-3pm Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday as the extension was just for the BH weekend. Have you tried our new Chocolate Orange Fudge Cake or Kinder Cookie Bar?? Be quick as they are flying out….See you soon x

Update: 26th August 2020

I am not sure where these weeks go? Who is excited for a bank holiday weekend? This week we are adjusting our opening hours due to it being a long weekend (for this weekend only). We are open Thursday & Friday 10am-3pm serving food until 2pm, Saturday, Sunday and BH Monday we are open 10-4pm with food being served until 3pm. To give you the heads up from the 1st September our chef is on holiday for 2 weeks so its me on breakfast, due to the business logistics we will only be serving breakfasts at the weekend 10am-1pm and unfortunately no salad or chips so this week is the time to get your triple cooked chips fix, its been a tough decision to make but there is a limit to my capacity , I am already on my knees and utterly exhausted so instead of pulling all hot food we have a plan so please be supportive of us during the fortnight whilst he is on holiday. Other exciting new Innocent drinks are supporting independent businesses by giving away freebies & we were successful so we have loads of healthy loveliness, to give a bit back we are donating 50% of the money to Beaumond House in Newark, we are going to sell them for £2 each with the additional option of making a donation to our chosen charity so please support us in a little bit of fundraising. We also have a new supplier called Pola, Isaac is a local chap who creates the most delicious ice and gelato poles so gives us a dairy free/vegan ice cream/sunny day alternative, they are utterly stunning!! We opted for Strawberries & Lemon (made using Starkey’s Strawberries), Lemon & Lime, Mango gelato plus a 200 Degrees Coffee gelato which are made using coconut milk…To be honest I can’t decide a favourite and they are available at £1.50 each so a gorgeous alternative for hopefully a sunny BH weekend x

Update: 19th August 2020

Hello guys, sorry its a little bit of a later update but we have all sorts of stuff going on behind the scenes and we have been baking flat out for the last 3 days to ensure we have cake for this week!! So as some you may have seen we launched our salad/snack menu last week which offers delicious salads (see menu on the website) plus our much loved triple cooked chips and chip butties are back as part of our food menu served 10am-2pm Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday. We also launched iced coffee’s after many of you guys asking for them and with the weather forecast being sunny for the next few days they are a perfect alternative to a soft drink whilst still getting your 200 degrees coffee fix. Planning ahead don’t forget we will be open BH Monday which is the 31st August…See you soon and please don’t forget your face covering x

Update: 10th August 2020.

How has another week passed by? Time is flying at the moment!! Not much to update you really this week except we will be serving our breakfast menu on Thursday this week, we have juggled the cake baking days and managed to find a way to have chef in the building on Thursday so whether you fancy an ultimate breakfast or simply a bacon butty we have it covered from 10am-2pm. Our opening days continue as Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday from 10am-3pm, our breakfast menu can be viewed on the website so hopefully see you soon x

Update: 3rd August 2020.

Firstly I just want to say a huge thank you for all your love, support & patience with the slow reopening of the tearoom. As a business owner this is huge, we are currently having the biggest fight of our lives as we have invested everything we have emotionally, physically, psychologically and financially into creating the dream. The balancing act is juggling staffing/payroll, footfall, overheads and turnover in a new world whilst keeping my team and visitors as safe as possible, with one eye on the weather forecast, not knowing what the future holds knowing somehow you have to try and make it work! As you know l prefer to take baby steps, make sure it works and then add the next step because as a business you build up a reputation which I expect to always maintain and not jeopardise so once we have nailed it, my team are happy we add the next step so excitingly we will now be open on Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday 10am-3pm. Due to kitchen logistics and social distancing we will be serving our breakfast menu on Friday, Saturday & Sunday 10am-2pm as with the current guidelines I am unable to have 2 cake bakers & our chef working in the kitchen at the same time so to maintain cake production at 500 plus cakes a week (this means not just the baking but pot washing, endless chopping & let’s not talk about the hours it takes us to pack them). The existing aspects of service remain the same, our one way system continues so please say hello to me at the entrance to the tearoom and I will explain everything, we are offering a takeaway service with the option to eat outside on the terrace if a table is available which are on a first come first serve basis, unfortunately we are not taking reservations). The indoor seating and toilets remain closed, we ask for contactless payment where possible and don’t forget your face covering. Once outside overlooking the fishing lake its a moment of tranquility and calm plus we have our new amazing Tipi from Sami Tipi which creates shade on a sunny day and shelter when the forecast is rain. Stay safe and look after each other because this is tough, we can help with cake!! Local deliveries will remain on Thursdays however after 3pm and All Mine Cakes by Post continues with postal days being Wednesday however unfortunately I am unable to offer a full cake menu as previously but I promise we are doing the best we can, we are always adapting and adjusting to the next step or government guidelines. Thank you again for being amazing x

Update: 29th July 2020.

As with everything we take it step by step and we are excited to announce that we will be launching our breakfast menu at the weekends only. On Fridays it remains tea, coffee, cake & ice cream with cheese scones available as a savoury option, Saturday and Sunday we will be serving a limited breakfast menu from 10am-2pm, please see the breakfast menu on the website for more information. We continue as a takeaway service with the option for outdoor seating on a first come first served basis so unfortunately we aren’t serving using plates etc, we have takeaway containers and disposable cutlery. During lockdown one of my suppliers has made the decision to limit wholesale therefore at this time we will just have pork sausages on the menu whilst I try to source a new supplier of Lincolnshire sausages. We ask you to please remember to bring a face covering with you when you visit the tearoom due to the latest government guidelines however once you are outside on the terrace it can be removed, if you have forgotten it we have them available to purchase for £1.00. We continue with our one way system, the toilets and indoor seating remains closed however we have outdoor seating plus the addition of the new Tipi for shade on sunny days and shelter on rainy days, hope to see you soon x

Update: 23rd July 2020.

How are we all doing? To keep you guys updated with the latest AMC news I am writing updates as they happen on the home page, our opening days are now Friday, Saturday & Sunday 10am-3pm for takeaway service of tea, coffee, cake & ice cream only, at this time we are not serving our breakfast menu or hot food however are adding cheese scones to our offering but they fly out fast so would maybe recommend calling ahead and reserving! Our toilets and indoor seating remain closed at this time simply as it compromises our social distancing measures, one way system, health & safety risk assessments for both staff and visitors.

Our outdoor seating remains open on a first come, first served basis however please do not enter the tearoom via the gate to the terrace as we have a one way system in place but a member of the team will guide and explain our process (and if you are visiting us with a dog, no worries at all we have to covered), have you seen our new and exciting Tipi? The idea is to help create shade on a sunny day and shelter on a rainy day, it makes you feel like you are on Safari (minus the giraffes and elephants) and is an amazing addition to our outdoor seating experience and giving a moment of normality.

As before we ask all visitor to use hand sanitiser on arrival, we ask for contactless payments where possible and as part of the governments track and track system we ask for your contact details. Following the government announcement on 23rd July 2020 regarding face coverings, whilst visiting the tearoom we ask you to please wear a face covering whilst in the building, once outside on the terrace these can be removed. We have the lovely Helen from Harrier UK Ltd (Health & Safety Consultant) working with us and has helped to complete our risk assessments, as a result we have adjusted the business processes and flow of customers to having a one way system, only one household or bubble enters the tearoom at one time. We have sneeze screens in place and my team maintain social distancing during your visit with frequent cleaning of contact points (plus tables/chairs are cleaned after every use). We obviously ask you to help us maintain social distancing whilst visiting the tearoom to help keep my team and customers as safe as possible x

Update: 10th July 2020

WEEKEND OPENING & A TRIAL FRIDAY OPENING ON THE 17TH JULY.

Following the success of our trail opening weekend we can excitingly announce that we will be continuing our weekend opening of 10am-3pm for takeaway service of tea, coffee, cake and ice cream only, as below our outdoor seating will be open on a first come first served basis and we have added a couple of tables for 6 people. Our toilets remain closed to the public due to the access creates a bottle neck, it compromises our social distancing measures, one way system, health & safety risk assessments for both staff and visitors, hopefully as government guidelines change on what I can and can’t do as a business owner they will reopen soon.

Upon arrival to the tearoom please come to the porch entrance and say hello to a member of staff, we will go through our new processes and how we are working to try to help keep our visitors safe. Please do not enter the tearoom via the side gate, we will guide you if you have a dog, where possible our bike rack is not in use due to the location of our queue, again I will guide you with alternatives. Our outside seating is cleaned after each use prior to our next customers so please give us opportunity to help keep you safe.

On Friday 17th July we will be trialling opening an additional day of the week, we have no plans to add hot food or snacks to our menu as yet or amend any of our existing plans. As I have mentioned on my social media pages reopening is a balance of what can be achieved, expectation, social distancing limitations and trying to survive whilst staying safe and keeping this wonky body going, unfortunately at this time we aren’t in the same world as we were pre-covid 19, I am just doing what I feel is right in a pandemic so please remain patient with us, we are doing the best we can and remember I am only human x

Update: 29th June 2020

TEAROOM TRIAL WEEKEND

As the government eases lockdown on the 4th July we are slowly going to start to reopen the tearoom with a trial weekend for takeaway service of tea, coffee, soft drinks, cake & ice cream only on the 4th & 5th July from 10am-3pm. We will have a limited number of outdoor tables but these are on a first come first served basis only, sorry no reservations and they are limited to 4 people per table maximum.

There will be no indoor seating, initially our toilets will be closed to the public and unfortunately we can’t use your reusable takeaway cups.

Upon entering the tearoom you will be asked to use hand sanitiser, payment we ask where possible to be made via a contactless method versus cash and contact details will be obtained to enable us to comply with track & trace.

We ask you to please help us maintain social distancing, avoid gathering in the car park, to be mindful of the surrounding area/local community & please work with us because I can’t do this alone, me & my team will be working incredibly hard to adjust to a new world & we are all in this together so please be patient.

I am planning to continue AMC by Post, local deliveries & contactless collections throughout the week. We will review our next step because your guess is a good as mine at the moment & let you know our plan for the following week once we have had chance to digest what happened on the trail weekend... Obviously, it’s all incredibly exciting to be welcoming you back to the tearoom but we need to do this very steadily, baby steps as we need to do everything possible to keep my team & visitors safe whilst ensuring the best actions possible for the business & our future x

Many thanks, Hayley & the team x

Update: 23rd March 2020

At this time the tearoom is temporarily closed due to covid 19 restrictions however we are still baking cakes which are available to be sent out and about the UK as treats & gifts as part of the newly launched All Mine Cakes by Post. We are also delivering cakes in and around the local villages of Southwell.

Prefer to come and contactless collect your cakes? We have a pre-ordering service available and cake collections are organised at 15 minute slots to give a little wiggle room. The cake menu changes weekly so keep your eyes peeled on my social media pages on Monday mornings for the latest cake menu, to place a reservation either direct message me, email or call the tearoom. I have one of my cake baking assistants back in the tearoom to help keep up so we can bake more cakes to keep ups with demand, its best to place you orders at the beginning of the week to avoid disappointment but please message me to see what cakes we have available from the menu.

At the moment collections are weekdays only.

Monday & Tuesday are our baking, chopping & packing days, postal orders are dispatched on Wednesday & Thursdays and contactless cake collections begin Wednesday afternoons, Thursday & Fridays…

Thank you everyone for your amazing support since lockdown, you guys are awesome & help to keep this dream alive! x
